The normal Market resets once a day

The Horse, Staff, and Equipment Market uses one daily market cycle. The reset happens at 12:05 AM Eastern.

The horses, staff, and equipment you see belong to that daily market. You do not need to check every few hours waiting for another normal refresh.

Important: Yearling Sales are separate from the normal daily Market. They use Yearling Books and a Sale Day schedule.

Horse listings do not show everything straight away

A Market horse can begin with broad stat ranges and hidden information. That is deliberate. Buying a horse is meant to involve some uncertainty instead of showing the exact answer immediately.

Scouting makes the picture clearer

Use an active Scout with uses remaining to improve the report on a listed horse. Each scouting step narrows what you know. Better reports can reveal more about stats, personality, archetype, surface, distance, and overall upside.

A strong Scout specialty can make the report improve faster or reveal useful information earlier.

Even a full report keeps some uncertainty

Scouting helps you make a better decision. It is not meant to turn every horse into a guaranteed bargain. Potential and future performance still have uncertainty.

Staff and equipment use the same daily reset

The Staff and Equipment tabs are part of the same normal Market cycle. If the countdown is running, that is the time left until the next daily market reset.

Staff are contracts with limited uses

Look at the role, specialty, experience, remaining uses, and cost. A more expensive staff member is only useful if the specialty fits what your stable actually needs.

Equipment has uses too

Equipment can be assigned to a horse. Items have limited uses and can be renewed. The renewal cost can rise over time, so do not buy or renew an item just because it is available.

Keep cash for the rest of the stable

The Market is one part of the game. Race entries, breeding, staff, equipment, and future purchases all compete for the same cash. A horse can be interesting without being worth emptying the stable account.

  2. Start with what your stable actually needs.
  3. Scout a horse if the hidden information could change your decision.
  4. Compare surface, distance, stats, age, and price.
